RECOMMENDATION:
Recommendation
Adopt the Resolution APPOINTING ENRICO (RICK) CALLENDER AS THE CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER, A BOARD APPOINTED OFFICER OF THE SANTA CLARA VALLEY WATER DISTRICT, AND APPROVING EMPLOYMENT AGREEMENT.

SUMMARY:
Following an extensive and competitive recruitment process, the Board of Directors have selected Enrico (Rick) Callender as the District’s next Chief Executive Officer (CEO).
A resolution appointing Mr. Callender as the CEO, and an Employment Agreement between the District and Mr. Callender outlining the terms and conditions of his employment are currently being finalized and will be provided as supplemental information on May 22, 2020.
If the Resolution is adopted, Mr. Callender and the Board Chair will execute the Agreement and Mr. Callender will begin service as the District’s CEO subject to the terms and conditions of the Employment Agreement.
FINANCIAL IMPACT:
Funds are budgeted in the Fiscal Year 2020 Budget for the CEO compensation and benefits.
CEQA:
The recommended action does not constitute a project under CEQA because it does not have the potential for resulting in direct or reasonably foreseeable indirect physical change in the environment.
