Title

Approve the Appointment of a Santa Clara Valley Water District Voting Representative to Vote on the Proposed Amended and Restated Bylaws of the Association of California Water and Provide Direction to Approve the Amended and Restated Bylaws.

RECOMMENDATION:

Recommendation

A.                     Appoint a delegate as the Santa Clara Valley Water District voting representative to vote on the Proposed Amended and Restated Bylaws of the Association of California Water Agencies; and

B.                     Provide direction to the voting representative to approve the proposed Amended and Restated Bylaws.

 

 

Body

SUMMARY:

A Membership Meeting will be held at Association of California Water Agencies’ (ACWA) 2024 Fall Conference and Expo to conduct an in-person vote by the membership on proposed Amended and Restated Bylaws of the Association of California Water Agencies.

 

Each member agency is entitled to one vote that will be cast by its authorized voting representative. Member agencies must designate their voting representative and alternate by submitting the attached Voting Representative Form by Monday, November 25.

 

This item allows the Board to appoint a delegate as the Santa Clara Valley Water District (Valley Water) voting representative to vote on the proposed amended and restated Bylaws of the Association of California Water Agencies. 

 

Amended and Restated Bylaw Review

Government Relations staff have reviewed the proposed Amended and Restated Bylaws (Attachment 1) and recommends that the Board give direction to its representative to approve the proposed revisions. Also attached for the Board’s information are a Red-line version of Proposed Amended and Restated Bylaws (Attachment 2) and a Proposed Bylaws Amendment Table (Attachment 3).

 

 

ENVIRONMENTAL JUSTICE AND EQUITY IMPACT:

There are no environmental justice and equity impacts associated with this agenda item.

 

 

FINANCIAL IMPACT:

There is no financial impact associated with this item.

 

 

CEQA:

The recommended action does not constitute a project under CEQA because it does not have the potential for resulting in direct or reasonably foreseeable indirect physical change in the environment.
