Consider the June 16, 2026, Board Policy and Monitoring Committee recommendation to approve the Interim Board Appointed Officer Complaint Policy.

SUMMARY:
At its June 16, 2026, meeting, the Board Policy and Monitoring Committee (BPMC) approved an interim policy for use in the event a complaint is filed against a Board Appointed Officer. The interim policy is currently under review by an external auditor. Following completion of the auditor's review, the Committee will consider the auditor's recommendations, finalize the policy as appropriate, and present it to the Board for consideration and approval. The interim policy (Attachment 1) is based on the process flowcharts (Attachment 2) that were reviewed and discussed during previous Committee meetings.
The interim policy will be a new Board-BAO Linkage (BL) Governance Policy, BL-6 Complaint Against a Board Appointed Officer (Interim Policy)
ENVIRONMENTAL JUSTICE IMPACT:
The Interim Board Appointed Officer Complaint Policy is not subject to environmental justice analysis.
FINANCIAL IMPACT:
There is no financial impact associated with this item.
CEQA:
The recommended action does not constitute a project under CEQA because it does not have the potential to result in direct or reasonably foreseeable indirect physical change in the environment.
