RECOMMENDATION:
Recommendation
A. Approve a budget adjustment in the amount of $121,000 from the Lower Berryessa Creek Phase 1 Flood Protection Project to the Fiscal Year 2025 Lower Berryessa Creek Phase 2 Flood Protection Project; and
B. Approve an increase of $121,000 to the construction contract contingency sum for the Lower Calera Creek Flood Protection Project for a new running contingency sum of $380,816.59 and overall contingency sum of $4,210,571.50.

SUMMARY:
Staff seeks Board approval for a budget adjustment to provide additional contingency funds to compensate the contractor for additional costs and overhead incurred.

Lower Berryessa Creek Flood Protection Project was constructed in two phases, Phase 1 completed in December 2016 and Phase 2, currently still under construction. The Lower Calera Creek Flood Protection Project is part of the Lower Berryessa Creek Phase 2 Flood Protection Project (Phase 2 Project). The Phase 2 Project completed civil construction in July 2020, and the Lower Calera Creek Flood Protection Project completed civil construction in June 2023. These projects involved constructing new floodwalls, levees, maintenance roads, mitigation planting, and plant establishment. The remaining work for construction of LCC Project includes plant establishment and maintenance and closing out the Phase 2 Project.

The proposed budget adjustment would transfer $121,000 from the Phase 1 Project to the Phase 2 Project.
