Provide Feedback for the Upcoming Audit of the Board Appointed Officers Complaint Process.

SUMMARY:
At the February 9, March 17, and April 21, 2026 Board Policy and Monitoring Committee (Committee) meetings, the Committee conducted brainstorming sessions to provide input to the Chief Executive Auditor before they begin the audit of the complaint process for a Board Appointed Officers (BAO). The Committee discussed procedural questions throughout the various stages upon receipt of a complaint against a BAO.
Since the Committee's discussion the attached flow charts have been developed to map the pre-investigation process (Process A) which includes the intake of a complaint through to the potential investigation. The second flow chart maps the management of an investigation if warranted (Process B).
For today’s discussion, additional flow charts have been developed to map the Board review process (Process C) once an investigation of a BAO has been completed. A fourth and final flow chart has been developed to map the post-investigation process (Process D).
Upon completion of today’s discussion, the flow charts will be provided to the Chief Executive Auditor for review and alignment with best practices.
