Adopt the Resolution EXPRESSING APPRECIATION TO DAVE PINE San Mateo County Supervisor for his dedicated years of public service to the San Francisco Bay Area, the State of California, and his distinguished career.

SUMMARY:
This Resolution provides the Board an opportunity to express appreciation to San Mateo County Supervisor Dave Pine for his dedicated years of public service in the Bay Area and honor his special commitment to addressing the impacts of climate change and sea level rise on our region.
Supervisor Dave Pine was first elected to the San Mateo County Board of Supervisors in a Special Election in 2011, and he was re-elected in 2012, 2016, and 2020. He served as Board President in 2014, 2018, and 2023, representing District 1, which includes Burlingame, Hillsborough, Millbrae, and portions of San Bruno and South San Francisco; the unincorporated communities of San Mateo Highlands, Baywood Park and Burlingame Hills; and the San Francisco International Airport.
Originally from New Hampshire, Supervisor Pine attended Dartmouth College. As a freshman, at age 19, he ran for and was elected to the New Hampshire House of Representatives. After serving in the New Hampshire House from 1972-1977, Supervisor Pine earned his Juris Doctorate from the University of Michigan. A legal internship brought him to the Bay Area in 1985, where he soon began a career in private practice.
