RECOMMENDATION:
Recommendation
Receive, review, and discuss information from the Santa Clara Valley Open Space Authority (OSA) regarding potential joint projects in the Coyote Valley area of Santa Clara County, and provide direction to staff as needed.

Body
SUMMARY:
Introduction
In July 2015 the District and OSA signed a memorandum of understanding to partner on topics that meet the intent of both agencies' missions. At this time, our two agencies are discussing examining multi-benefit water resource project opportunities in the Coyote Valley as a partnership project.

Background
The OSA and SCVWD have examined existing information to gain a preliminary understanding of multi-benefit water resource enhancement opportunities in the Coyote Valley. Early results indicate there are considerable opportunities for water quality, groundwater recharge, and flood risk reduction projects that intersect with agricultural preservation, habitat enhancement, and recreational opportunities.

Planning for Conservation
The SCVWD and OSA would like to continue examining feasibility and benefit of these multi-benefit water resource enhancement opportunities as a case study for the One Water- Coyote Creek Watershed Master Plan, and in preparation for the development of a Fisher Creek and Laguna Seca Restoration Assessment.

Next steps
* SCVWD to work with OSA to develop Coyote Valley Case Study for the One Water- Coyote Creek Watershed Master Plan
* Work with OSA to scope, secure funding, and implement a Fisher Creek and Laguna Seca Restoration Assessment.

Schedule
December 2016- completion of the Coyote Valley Case Study
Fall 2016 to Spring 2017: scope and secure funding for the Fisher Creek and Laguna Seca Restoration Assessment
