Adopt the RESOLUTION RECOGNIZING MARCH 2020 AS WOMEN’S HISTORY MONTH.

SUMMARY:
The 19th Amendment approved on August 18, 1920, provided women across the United States of America the right to vote, and assured that these rights and privileges are available to ALL citizens equally.
The centennial of suffragist’s great political victory will be celebrated nationwide throughout 2020. The Women’s Suffrage Centennial 2020 offers the perfect opportunity for both women and men to honor women’s hard won progress and expand our work for universal freedom, justice, and equality.
Women at the District have been and continue to be an influential and fundamental component of the workforce, and representing all levels of the workforce, they bring a diverse array of experience, skills, education, tenacity, and determination to demonstrate that their contributions are essential to the success of the important services Santa Clara Valley Water District provides to the public.
FINANCIAL IMPACT:
There is no financial impact associated with this item.

The recommended action does not constitute a project under CEQA because it does not have a potential for resulting in direct or reasonably foreseeable indirect physical change in the environment.
