RECOMMENDATION:

Recommendation

Adopt the Resolution APPOINTING JUAN CARLOS ORELLANA AS THE DISTRICT COUNSEL, A BOARD APPOINTED OFFICER OF THE SANTA CLARA VALLEY WATER DISTRICT, AND APPROVING EMPLOYMENT AGREEMENT.

 

 

Body

SUMMARY:

Following an extensive and competitive recruitment process, the Board of Directors have selected Juan Carlos Orellana as the District’s next District Counsel.

 

A Resolution appointing Mr. Orellana as the District Counsel, and an Employment Agreement between the District and Mr. Orellana outlining the terms and conditions of his employment are provided.

 

If the Resolution is adopted, Mr. Orellana and the Board Chair will execute the Agreement and Mr. Orellana will begin service as the District Counsel subject to the terms and conditions of the Employment Agreement.

 

 

FINANCIAL IMPACT:

Funds are budgeted in the Fiscal Year 2021 Budget for the District Counsel compensation and benefits.

 

 

CEQA:

The recommended action does not constitute a project under CEQA because it does not have the potential for resulting in direct or reasonably foreseeable indirect physical change in the environment.
