Adopt the Resolution COMMEMORATING THE PROMOTION OF ANTOINETTE R. GANT to the rank of Brigadier General in the United States Army and recognizing her distinguished career.

SUMMARY:
The Resolution provides the Board an opportunity to commemorate the promotion of Antoinette R. Gant to the rank of Brigadier General in the United States Army.
Brigadier General Gant currently serves as the Commander and Division Engineer for the United States Army Corps of Engineers (Corps) South Pacific Division. She is the first African American female to serve as a division commander in the Corps, and she is the first African American female, active-duty engineer to reach the rank of Brigadier General.
Originally from Port Gibson, Mississippi, Brigadier General Gant graduated from Prairie View A&M University in Prairie View, Texas, as a Distinguished Military Graduate with a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering and a commission in the Engineer Regiment. She also holds a Master of Science in Engineering Management from Missouri University of Science and Technology and a Master of Science in National Resource Strategy from the Dwight D. Eisenhower School at the National Defense University in Washington, D.C.
As Commander and Division Engineer of the South Pacific Division, a position she has held since July 2021, Brigadier General Gant oversees a workforce of more than 2,800 military and civilians across all or part of 10 states and manages a suite of water resources projects valued at more than $16 billion.
